Giving Thanks

Today is Thanksgiving.

We are living in a foreign country with a completely different culture and religion to our own, raising a baby. Life is nothing like I imagined it would be, and for that, I am thankful. I am thankful that life can be unpredictable like that and that no matter how many plans we make, we have no idea what the future might hold.

I am thankful for our beautiful baby girl, who is the best thing that has ever happened to us. God has perfect timing. Always.

I am thankful for my husband. How I got this guy to fall for me I will never know. I am so lucky to share my life with such an intelligent, interesting and kind person.

I am thankful for my family, even though it breaks my heart that we life so far away from them at the moment.

I am thankful that I had a job for four years that I loved so much. Taking on this new chapter of my life has been bittersweet.

I am thankful for the friends that we have made here in the UAE. They remind us to live life to the full, to stay curious and to always be kind.

I am thankful that I will get to spend the holidays back home with the people that I love.

I am thankful that even though living overseas is not always easy, we have everything we need, we are loved and we are expectant of the year ahead.
